Apple Announces iPhone 12's Release Date

Apple has announced its next event, titled "Hi, Speed", will be taking place on October 13th,2020 - the firm confirmed on its blog. The news comes just a fortnight after rumors of the intended release date. Last month, tech analyst Jon Prosser tweeted, "Lines up with the dates I have you last month. I was told: Event October 13. Pre-orders on 16. In stores on 23".
iPhone 12 is expected to headline the event as AppleInsider points out a potential iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max or an iPhone 12 mini, "with each sporting a 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch OLED screen. They will probably be joined by the 6.1-inch "iPhone 12 Pro" and the 6.7-inch "iPhone 12 Pro Max."
Apple initially failed to launch the iPhone 12 in its usual September timeline due to the coronavirus pandemic, that affected production and distribution of the units.

Two days ago, the director also confirmed that there were "a few positive Coronavirus tests" on set. "All tested negative shortly after, but due to our safety protocols we're going to pause for two weeks. Back soon."
