Lupita's Recognition of Comedian Elsa Majimbo Draws Online Debate on Celebrating Our Own Acts

On Wednesday, Lupita Nyong'o expressed her love for upcoming comedian Elsa "Mpho" Majimbo. The "Us" movie actress revealed her latest guilty pleasure on Twitter quoting Majimbo's post, "@ElsaAngel19 has been making me LAUGH recently. If you haven't seen her comedy videos yet, go follow her right now! #WomanCrushWednesday".
"Guys when I tell you I'm falling gasping for air and trying to make sense of what is occurring !!!! Khai !", the elated Elsa replied. As a faction of fans congratulated her, another stirred an online debate. Lupita's acknowledgement of Elsa led to criticism as to why Kenyans do not recognize and/or appreciate certain content creators, until "foreign" celebrities do. Kenyans on Twitter took to the microblogging platform in a campaign bid to have anchor Hussein Mohammed's return to TV. The former Citizen TV "News Night" host left the media house in October 2019 after 10-year run. Mohammed is yet to announce his next juncture.
