IG Launches Captions Sticker to Stories

Instagram has launched a new captions sticker feature in Stories, with a future roll out in Reels. "Sound off ?…with sound off. Now you can add a captions sticker in Stories (coming soon to Reels) that automatically turns what you say into text," tweeted Instagram last week. "With captions, people can now express themselves in a more effortless yet still meaningful way, and their audience can watch and still engage."
The new feature not only promotes accessibility for deaf users on the App but also those who prefer to watch videos silenced. Per Social Media Today, "when you add the new Captions sticker to your captured video, it will auto-generate text captions based on the audio input. The auto-captions won't be 100% accurate all of the time, but you'll also be able to edit the text, as well as the text color, position and font, to best suit your presentation."
The microblogging platform further announced they were "starting in a handful of countries [US, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and Ireland] and hope to expand soon".
