Will Smith Smacks Chris Rock at the Oscars; The Internet Reacts
Will Smith may have won an Oscar on Sunday, but the internet was more concerned about his assault against comedian and the awards' host, Chris Rock, on live TV.
The unfortunate incident was initiated by Rock's distasteful joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett. "Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2 — can't wait to see it, all right?" Said Rock in reference to Jada's alopecia, a medical term for bald head.
Smith stormed to the stage, smacked Rock in the face and headed back to his seat. While this seemed rehearsed at first, shortly after, Smith was heard yelling in the audience, "Keep my wife's name out your f***ing mouth".
While Will Smith has since apologized for the altercation, Chris Rock has declined to file assault charges against him.
