The Candidate is a one of a kind show and it's proving to be as interesting as it is disturbing. From infidelity, incest, homosexuality, marital violence and murders, this show has gone out of its way to show us another side of telenovelas that is not all about undying love.One of the plot lines that has been shocking so far is Emiliano's relationship with Cecelia who is his mother's sister. Granted, Emiliano does not know anything about this but Cecelia knows that Emiliano is her nephew but she still had intimate relations with him. Even worse, Cecilia has been sleeping with Emiliano's father, Alonso.Unfortunately, Emiliano had been plagued with tragedy from the start and people seem to die whenever they are associated with him. The most recent issue has been the girl who died of a drug overdosed during a party that Emiliano hosted and his mother Regina now intends to send him to jail for the crime.Infidelity and Marital violence has also been highlighted in the show. Omar; Alonso's father has been very violent with Natalia; his wife to the point of her seeking legal help and suing him for hurting her. Omar also took in a mistress who is as young as his grandson and has been beating her as well.Alonso's right hand also confessed to Cecelia that he has managed to stay alongside Alonso even though he was mistreated because he was in love with him which revealed that he is gay.These are but a few of the themes explored on The Candidate but which one of them do you find most intriguing?
