Spelling bees offer more than just language proficiency. By spelling words in front of an audience, children can cultivate their self-assurance, communication, and public speaking abilities, as well as learn to excel under pressure.
Moreover, spelling is vital for reading as it establishes a connection between sounds and letters. It is a term that refers to a gathering of people united in a common goal, often cooperating to achieve a task.
On May 24th, 2023, Oshwal Academy Nairobi Nursery will host a Spelling Bee Competition and General Knowledge Quiz, providing kids aged 2-5 with an opportunity to expand their vocabulary, learn new concepts, and improve their English skills. The school also invites other students from the surrounding areas to join the event, promoting community learning and growth.
Participating in this competition will ignite students' interest in language. Beyond spelling proficiency, the literacy, cognitive, and life skills they acquire through studying and competing will have a positive impact on their lives and communication. While competing in a spelling bee can be challenging, it will also be enjoyable and provide unexpected advantages for all aspects of life.
