Are you ready for awesomeness? The man who brought out the villain in 'Black Panther', Michael B. Jordan, is developing a superhero family drama series for Netflix titled 'Raising Don.' Michael will be working as an executive producer of the show as well as a supporting actor.
Raising Don is based on a comic book about a black family of superheroes who face challenges living in a 'normal' world. According to Shadow and Act, the premise of the show is about a single mum, Nicole Reece (played by Alisha Wainwright) who raises her son Dion (played by Ja'Siah Young) after the death of her husband Mark (Michael B. Jordan). Things get complicated when Dion starts displaying superhero-like abilities and Nicole must work to protect her son from those who aim to exploit his growing powers.
It's been a while since we had a black superhero family. Incredibles 2 denied us of a Frozone family but with this series, we might be in for a good and thrilling surprise. A short film had been made prior to the upcoming series and it received a great response.
I guess Dion should be added to the X-Men or rather Deadpool's X-Force don't you think? We are here for great TV.
