Everybody has a tale to tell and everybody tells it in different ways.Films are a great avenue for Africans to tell their stories to the world in an authentic way devoid of glaring stereotypes and undertones of pandering to the white gaze.Helping regular Africans living everyday lives express their material conditions to the world through film is what Docubox's & Comic Relief's Sema Stori project set out to do when they sent out a call for submissions for their documentary competition that attracted hundreds of entries from the region.They recently announced 10 finalists who received £10,000in funding for production of films that touched on Mental Health, Early Childhood Development, Gender Justice, and the Right to Safe Secure Shelter and settlement.
