Need a little break from the fast-paced hustle and bustle of Nairobi life? Enjoy a little bit of farm serenity just outside Nairobi. Choose a weekend and take the kids to Kiambethu Limuru.
Kiambethu Tea Farm  is about an hour's drive from Nairobi and offers a picturesque green backdrop of unpicked tea. Kiambethu is run by Fiona Vernon, a fourth generation British- Kenyan whose family has been in the tea industry since the early 1900s.
At the farm, you and the kids will learn about tea cultivation, how the process, package and export it. On select days, your children can participate in a taste test of freshly brewed black tea to ascertain quality. Pretty cool.
You'll also get to walk through the expansive farm and colobus monkey filled forest and learn about the various plants and how they are used for medicinal and aesthetic purposes.
The guides will thereafter lead you back to the farmhouse where your family will enjoy a buffet lunch that is prepared with ingredients from the farm. They even make Ice cream using milk from their herd of Channel Island cows.
The Cost is 3,800Ksh per person all inclusive
