Eggnog is a boozy Christmas beverage the West loves to indulge in. It hasn't picked up here yet but you can still raise your glass with Nairobi's favorite Holiday cocktail: The Dawa.
Given that dawa is Swahili for "medicine," this famous cocktail is said to cure whatever ails you. It's been a stressful year, we all need some healing. Here's how to make it:
Yield: 4 Drinks
  • 200ml Vodka
  • 4 bar spoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 limes, cubed
  • Honey-coated stir stick (garnish)
Preparation
Place cubed limes and brown sugar into an Old Fashioned glass
Crush limes, add crushed ice and pour in the Vodka
Twist a "Dawa" or honey stick into honey and add to the drink
Muddle limes with Dawa or honey stick
Bottoms up!
