This Friday 3rd July 2020 at 7:30 PM, French cultural centre Alliance Française de Nairobi will be hosting Nairobi Poetry Cafe- a showcase platform for up and coming Kenyan poets.
Mizizi Afriqa will be this week's act. They are a group of young, spoken word artists from underprivileged backgrounds who raise awareness on societal issues.
Their motto is 'Speaking the Unspoken for the Voiceless'. They have appeared at many themed festivals around Nairobi and will make their debut appearance at the virtual poetry cafe.
Mizizi Afriqa has been vocal on police brutality, poverty and domestic violence these past weeks and they promise to deliver a powerful statement this Friday so be sure to tune in.
If you believe in social justice and equity, show your support by sharing the live stream and put your money where your mouth is by dropping some coins in the virtual piggy bank through m-pesa number 0704 464 397.
Enjoy!
