Nallah Sangare - Make Up Artist
My best memory of my mother is when I had a car accident and she rushed barefooted to come and pick me up. I could measure on that day how much she cared and loved me. The connection is so deep that no matter how far I am she will always call me when I'm down.
Helena Waithera - Actress
My mother is my mentor, a woman after God's own heart. My most cherished memory of her is how she has loved and taken care of me and my five siblings as a single mother. She has given me a good life. The best life. She is my squad and my best friend.
Wanjiru Njiru - Digital Content Creator
As I have grown older and as I become my own woman I have come to love spending time with my mum. I see a lot of me in her, and a lot of God as well. Something I want to carry and share with my daughter someday.

I remember my brothers and I were crazy about PlayStation. We didn't actually own one though... money was tight. Then one day my mom is like "Ebu, twende we visit your grandmother". Kumbe there was a detour! An hour later, my brother Philip and I were walking out of Games Planet (remember the place in Westlands?) with our brand-new PS one. Till now, I struggle to remember a time I was happier! Shout out to my mom, the real MVP!
Anyiko Owoko - Anyiko PR
My mother didn't just carry and bring me into the world - she taught me everything that I am today. When I was in Class 5, she taught me how to mark compositions of Class 8 students because I was her helper when she was a struggling single mum and English teacher swamped at school. I hated it but little did I know that it was my life training in writing, editing and journalism. Before any school or culture, it was my mother who taught me that I am able and enough. Happy Mother's Day to my mum. You are the world's best girl and forever my heart beat! ❤️
Sharon Kate Ng'anga- K24 TV presenter
My most cherished memory of my mum is her taking me to commercial and acting auditions as a kid. At some point I was ready to give up on this media thing because I had not booked a job, but she kept pushing me and would even sit in audition lines with me until midnight. She kept my dream alive and I'm here living my dream because of that strong love.
Rosa Akinyi - Musician
My most cherished memory of my mum is when she supported me as I decided to leave my course in aeronautical engineering and go into music and marketing to build my craft. It has moulded me into who I am, and she allowed me to do what I loved without knowing where it would lead. But here we are.
Joyce Maina - Actress/Model
As a kid, we used to go for family lunch at a place called Rib Shake and they always had dancing competitions. Not to brag, but I would always win. That's until one day I came in second. I was so upset. I slowly slipped away from the crowd and went to the bathroom to cry. I didn't even think anyone noticed I was gone. But when I left the bathroom stall my mother was waiting for me. I remember her telling me not to be a sore loser, and to always do everything with grace, including losing. She also told me, "What's meant to be yours, will always be yours". I've never forgotten those words and that has helped me as an actress because rejection is part of the game. I've learnt to root for other people when they win too.
