Money Heist Season 3 Review [Spoilers]

With El Professor’s seemingly unending bank heist schemes, backed up with his minions, Money Heist (La Casa De Papel) Season 3, is finally here for your viewing pleasure.

One thing, Money Heist exceedingly continues to excel being a foreign series which has attracted a huge international audience, making it Netflix’s most-watched most popular foreign language TV series on the streaming platform, including winning an Emmy.

Season 3 sets the balling rolling when El Professor (Álvaro Morte) settles in Thailand, with former inspector Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituño) –now called Lisbon, where for three years, with no absolute communication with the gang. This is after making away with a billion euros from the Royal Mint in Madrid. The unfolding events begin when Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó) and Rio (Miguel Herrán) make the mistake of having their call intercepted by Interpol. Rio gets caught and the gang must reassemble to get their member back, the best way they know how, a heist. Bank of Spain is the target location for this season’s heist, that sees the chronological order of events leaving you glued to your seat. Of course, the red jumpers with Dalí masks are back, and looking better than ever!

New characters are introduced to the thriller, following Berlin’s (Pedro Alonso) and Moscow’s (Paco Tous) untimely deaths, and Lisbon’s defection to the group. Palermo (Rodrigo de la Serna) plays will be Berlin’s replacement as he heads the heist on the ground. Bogotá (Hovik Keuchkerian) plays an integral role inside the bank’s vault, whose welding skills come in handy. The new inspector Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri), however, is seemingly more ruthless and cunning compared to Lisbon. She completely switches up El professor’s plans, causing Nairobi’s shooting, and fooling El Professor into believing that Suarez killed Lisbon; a move that breaks another one of his rules- not to kill anyone.

This season has laid out interesting twists for season four, leaving much more surprises. Sofia the ferret won the hearts of many on this season, as a GPS chip is inserted on her, leading the police on a wild goose chase. The plain truth of the matter is that Money Heist season 3 more than lives up to the legacy its predecessors have established.
