The heavily anticipated, sold-out Jameson Connects which was headlined by American musician Ty Dolla Sign, lived up to the billing. It was an incredible success and it's safe to say that if you did not attend this one, then you missed out on one of the most blazing concerts of 2017.
The concert venue, Uhuru Gardens, probably hosted the most people it ever has. It was packed to the brim with enthusiastic fans. Nairobi celebrities who were among the revellers were the likes of Shaq the Yungin, Tracy Wanjiru and Miss Mandi.
The all-Kenyan opening acts were superb. Kagwe Mungai provided one of the highlights of the night when he called a girl on stage for a risqué lap dance performance before later joining Fena and Muthoni DQ to perform their hit collaboration 'Kama Kawaida'.
Octopizzo brought out Barak Jacuzzi for a show-stopping set, Kansoul gave the crowd quite a show with their team of dancers when they performed their hit song 'Bablas'. And of course, the OG rapper himself Khaligraph Jones stole the show, first appearing on stage inside a coffin performing his trap-laced banger 'Mazishi' and later spraying the crowd with thousand shilling notes while in the middle of his latest hit 'Nataka Iyo Doh'.
South African rapper Nasty C was next on stage took to the stage to give a mind-blowing performance of songs from his latest EP. Needless to say, he's got mad talent and he proved this with the numerous freestyle raps he did every time the beat dropped. What was even more impressive about his performance is how he exuded so much confidence throughout.

By the time Ty Dolla $ign was stepping onto the stage, excitement was at fever pitch. Screaming fans close to the stage peppered him with everything from bras to panties. Ty seemed to take a cue from the energetic crowd to give an electric, stretched and totally ticket-worthy performance. He reached out to his catalogue of hits including "Paranoid" and "Or Nah", features like 5th Harmony's "Work From Home", Wizkid's "Dirty Wine", Mr. Eazy's "Leg Over" and Jason Derulo's "Swalla".
He also performed songs from his new Beach House 3 including "Drop Top in the Rain" and "In Your Phone". Ty actively engaged with the crowd and gave a fiery performance, showing off his amazing vocal skills.
The night went on well after he left the stage where the DJ played a nice mix of music as the crowd danced the night away. It was one for the ages.
