Kato Change, Winyo & SURAJ are no strangers to the Kenyan music scene, each of them fore fronting their unique sounds and representing East Africa on a global stage. They have come together to create a body of work that they call the "Sazile EP" inspired and worked on in Kenya.
From Main Stage at festivals like Tomorrowland & Coachella to niche and boutique experiences like LA-Sunday in Ivory Coast or Secret Shamba in Kenya, their 2018 Kenyan house classic "Abiro" made its rounds across the globe yarning support from industry leaders such as Black Coffee, Sun-El-Musician + over 250,000 views.
The trio re-unite to create the 5-Track body of work called "Sazile" Translating to "Those Times." The opening track Sazile's moody and laid-back nature perfectly carving space for Winyo's vocal to shine, Kato Change's guitar strums and occasional solo making song flow seamlessly.
Oriti slightly gears up the tempo and initiates with a simple yet effective drum groove, a gallant chord progression focused on Winyo's lead vocals & Kato Change's Guitars. Nyoro, (the first single that debuted on No. 1 on Apple Music Kenya Charts, Editorial playlists and many more) starts instantly with a refreshingly new chord progression, SURAJ's signature kick and bass groove, a catchy and effective guitar riff continues to compliment through the duration of the song. Neuru is a perfectly mixed four-tothe-floor club record that elevates the vibe on the dance-floor immediately. This song really screams SURAJ's signature. Ending with Suna, the fastest song on the project builds intensity in tempo and groove and is definitely an epic-climax for the project.
