Janet Mbugua, the anchor and actress, has joined the fight against coronavirus, advising Kenyans on how to survive a period of self-isolation.
Many Kenyans are self-isolating in their homes, possibly for weeks at a time, amid the coronavirus, or Covid-19, pandemic that has raged globally, and is rising in Kenya, the latest confirmed cases reaching 81 as of April 1.
On her YouTube channel, the media personality talks about how important it is to find distractions and methods to achieve mental wellbeing at what is a scary time for many people.
''We're smack in the fight to end coronavirus #COVID19 and all of us have a lot on our minds," she says.
In the edition of ''5 Things On My Mind,' Mbugua urges Kenyans to rest, use different calming apps that can help or make you more aware of your surroundings. People might have trouble being focused because of constantly thinking about what happens next, she says.
She also touches on financial aspects, and says it is more important than ever to save. Buy only essentials to stave off overspending or impulse purchases. And stay at home, she urges, except in an emergency.
