Further to the postponement of Jamhuri Reggae Festival 2017 in December, Head Cornerstone Entertainment is happy to announce new dates for the festival.
The event will now be held on 3rd March 2018 at KICC Comesa Grounds. Headlined by legendary reggae maestro Freddie McGregor, the show will also feature reggae's preeminent harmony group Culture, featuring Kenyatta Hill, son of legend Joseph Hill. On stage will also be leading local artists, Jahlyric, R5 (Nazizi, Ras Mtapa Tapa, Lavosti, Jahpila & Levysill) backed by The Roots Connection Band.
Themed, Kenya Moja, the second edition of the festival seeks to not only provide a unique concert experience but to also spread a non-political message of peace love and togetherness as the country exits a long period of electioneering.
Jamhuri Reggae Festival provides a unique palate of good vibes and rich…. fusion of Kenyan & Caribbean culture. Jamhuri Reggae Festival is much more than an event, It's a lifestyle.
Freddie McGregor's popularity soared in the early 1980s with the release of "Bobby Babylon". Milo Miles, writing for The New York Times, named Culture as "the leading exponent of 'conscious reggae'".
