The Met Gala, an annual benefit event for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is considered one of the world's biggest fashion events. The 71st annual event -known for its exclusive guest list and expensive tickets-  was no different as the most stylish celebrities donned the pink carpet with outfits ranging from sublime to the utterly ridiculous on the 'Camp: Notes on Fashion' -themed ceremony.

A-Listers in Attendance

Lady Gaga dazzled the pink carpet in a billowing pink parachute dress that required five people to hold it, followed by constant costume changes later on.

Cardi B showed up in a red Thom Browne gown with a train that, according to Vogue, extended for about 10 feet. Her look sparked memes and reactions similar to Rihanna's yellow gown in 2015.

Katy Perry lit up the pink carpet in her Moschino by Jeremy Scott chandelier look. She styled a Swarovski chandelier cage over her strapless dress covered in crystals. Her second look however turned heads as she changed into a Moschino hamburger outfit with matching hamburger shoes from her Katy Perry Collection.

Gabrielle Union and Dwayne WadeGabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade were all sorts of stylish couple goals at the Met! The 'Being Mary Jane' actress arrived in a custom hand-embroidered paillettes gown and floor-length cardigan by Dundas as her basketball husband Dwayne complimented her by rocking a custom hooded embellished silk harness underneath his embroidered black tuxedo jacket.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye WestKanye West joined Kim at the Met Gala this year for the first time since their last appearance in 2016. Kim became the 'raindrop queen' at the event as she 'dripped' in a body-hugging nude gown. Kanye -being Kanye- went for a simple plain black zip-up.
