Godzilla and Kong Reunite in 'The New Empire'

Back in 2021, two icons from the monster-verse clashed in Godzilla vs Kong. Godzilla, the prehistoric sea monster from Japan with nuclear breath, met his adversary larger-than-life Ape Kong.

We learnt of the backstories of Kong & Godzilla. How they came to be and why the fate of the world hangs in the balance because of their existence.

The fight for supremacy was epic! Good thing, at the end, Godzilla and Kong acknowledged each other's supremacy and went their separate ways.

Three years later Godzilla and Kong unite in The New Empire against a mysterious threat at Kong's place--Hollow Earth. The trailer reveals previously untold origins of the Titans and Skull Island.

The New Empire is the fifth feature in the MonsterVerse franchise and follows Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). There have also been two television entries in the franchise, the anime series Skull Island (2023) released on Netflix and the live-action series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023) released on streaming sites.
