Ernesto has decided that he will not go down alone after Vanessa filed for their divorce.  Their marriage had been failing for a long while and Ernesto tried to rekindle things when he noticed that he might lose his wife and thus, access to the Noriega fortune. Unfortunately, it was too late because Vanessa had already fallen for Max, a consultant that she hired for the company. Vanessa thus decided to file for divorce so that she could be free to date Max.  Ernesto however refused asked for company shares, a house and a huge sum of money as settlement for the divorce. Vanessa would not agreeErnesto sought Diego's support but this did not work in his favor. Diego stole the project Ernesto had been working on and threatened him to make him stay away from Vanessa. Ernesto was furious for being double crossed so he talked to the press and revealed some damaging information about the Noriega family and their company.Vanessa went to Alejandro for help and he confronted Ernesto. He said that they would sue Ernesto for disclosing family secrets since he had signed a non-disclosure agreement when he started working at the company.
