South Korean boy band, BTS continues on their road to world domination as they seek a more active participation with fans in Africa. After three movies; Burn The Stage, Bring The Soul and Love Yourself in Seoul, their fourth movie, Break The Silence: Persona finally reached local cinemas. Kenya joins other African fans in South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt, Zambia, Tunisia and Tanzania where the movie has also been screened since its release in September.
Break The Silence: Persona follows the band on their 2019 stadium tour, Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, which took them to the USA, Brazil, the UK, France, Japan, Saudi Arabia and South Korea. With the tagline "facing my other self 'persona'", band members RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook explore the differences and similarities between their identities as worldwide superstars versus their offstage persona as Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook respectively. The movie also includes concert footage and behind the scenes from the tour with highlights such as their stops in Wembly in the UK, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and the three-day finale at Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea
The BTS Army (their fandom name) in Kenya eagerly came out in numbers to watch the movie, which has been screening in Nairobi and Mombasa from November 27 to December 3.
