Afropunk attracts fans from all over the world every year. The festival celebrates music, art, film and fashion by black artists and will be happening from 30th to 31st December in Johannesburg .
It started out in Brooklyn and has expanded around the world to five cities: Paris, Johannesburg, London and Atlanta; all within the last five years. Additional cities are on the horizon.
U.S. singers Solange Knowles, Miguel and Masego will be headlining the festival.
Blinky Bill’s music is a mix of futuristic African beats meets, funk, hip-hop, pop, electronica and hints of jazz. He released his first solo album, ‘Everyone’s Just Winging It And Other Fly Tales’, at the end of 2018.
