Aracely Arambula is set to make her return to Televisa to headline the remake of La Madrasta (The Stepmother). The actress has been with Telemundo in the previous years and has worked on shows such as La Patrona, Los Miserables and La Doña.La Madrasta was a 2005 Novela by Televisa, headlined by Victoria Ruffo and Cesar Evora. La Madrasta follows the story of a woman who is unjustly accused of killing her best friend. After serving her sentence, she leaves prison to reunite with her family but she becomes a stepmother to her own children, who grew up without her presence and do not know her. She slowly works to win back the affection of her children while at the same time searching for the person who killed her best friend.

In the new remake, Aracely Arambula will be joined by Eduardo Santamarina. It will be produced by Carmen Armendariz, who also worked on the remake of La Usurpadora in 2019.
