Whether you live in the capital, or you’re simply just visiting Nairobi, there are plenty of picturesque locations you can boast about on Instagram. From streets rich with history to botanical gardens to rustic trains, here are (our) five most instagrammable places in Nairobi (Not ranked).

They’ve come under a lot of heat lately for their eyebrow raising policies and are struggling to make amends with the public. They now want all of y’all Instagrammers to visit and immerse yourself in their stately, elegant decor, the manicured gardens, cottagecore and of course, the giraffes. For what they lack in Public Relations, they compensate for with the most breathtaking backdrops for the gram’ .

Nairobi Street Kitchen along Mpaka road, Westlands is the city’s latest entrant in the food business. What makes it stand out is that it’s a collective of 11 restaurants that cater to an array of palates, each with quirky installations that are seemingly right out the pages of Willy Wonka’s playbook. Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by some ankara seats with a pink backdrop. The rest of the space offers tantalizing images you’ll be eager to post on IG. If you’re looking for instagrammable restaurants, this is it!

Perhaps the most photographed house in Kenya, the Africa Heritage house overlooking Nairobi National Park, will evoke feelings of African pride. From Dogon masks adorning the walls to Makuti roofing and one of a kind paintings from all over the continent, Africa Heritage house offers the best afrocentric aesthetics in the world. The little known strip of green space is nestled between the Nairobi National Museum building & Nairobi river and has well maintained  lawns, a memorial garden, wooden figurines, benches and an orchid house and best of all, It’s free to access.
