There are lots of rock songs about love, loss of a loved one, heartbreak, missed opportunities, happy endings and much more. Not many people realize that these aren't songs that make you cry. Rather, they are supposed to help you relate to someone out there undergoing a similar ordeal. Some of the best classic rock songs were recorded and released to entertain and as well help Kenyan listeners relate to the artist's perspective.
Here is a compiled list of rock artists that deserve your attention :

Simply Tomas

Tomas is a Kenyan artiste whose style is greatly influenced by a variety of musical genres - rock, reggae, hip-hop, R&B and African music. He is a guitarist and has played for many bands over the years. He started a solo career in December 2010 to experiment on new ideas and a new sound. He incorporates swahili in his songs, a factor that differentiates his music from his British/American/Indie influence. There is a delightfully cheeky throw back to those great late 90s rock bands, and they have the witty jams to prove it.  Tomas is one of the best at pulling together gorgeous little melodies and the band always turns them around with a lovely twist into some absolutely lovely grooves. There's no better example of what Simply Tomas has been capable of the last several years than their oldie-but-goodie "Tafadhali."

Rish has done huge shows in foreign countries including Germany and Angola and her music and style still reign.
