Can you imagine seeing Tracy Wanjiru or Kate Karanja from Mother-In-Law as Kim? Yes you can because anything is Kim-Possible. Disney announced that it's developing the live-action movie of the cartoon that aired locally from 2002-2007. A live action movie basically means that the movie will be remade with real people playing the animated characters. The casting for the movie has already begun.
The movie will stick to the cartoon's premise where Kim, an average high-school cheerleader saves the world from supervillains in her spare time. So yeah, be prepared to see a high school student who will save the world alongside their cool friend, who in the series went by the name Ron Stoppable and the rat Rufus as the back-up for action times.
This was arguably one of the best cartoons when growing up. I always had that feeling that maybe when I join high school I'd have a secret life as a hero. Well, I went to an all-boys school which meant that I couldn't have a female friend that we'd sneak out of class together with to go and save the world. A guy can dream.
The theme song for Kim-Possible was written by Christian Milian and perhaps she will be called to do a remix. But, since we have Band Beca, we wouldn't mind if they called this magical duo to re-create the intro song.
"Mark and Bob (creators of the show) created an enduring character and kids all over the world found a friend in her, an average girl who just happens to spend her off-school hours thwarting evil villains. Although Kim Possible 'can do anything,' kids and tweens found that this animated redhead was just like them," Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President of original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide, said in a statement to the press that was shared on Entertainment Weekly.
