For Sama is a 2019 documentary produced, narrated and directed by Waad Al-Kateab. 
Waad Al- Kateab is a badass journalist and rebel in the Syrian uprising. Her husband is one of  the few doctors left in Aleppo during the civil war and they've chosen to stay for the sake of their daughter Sama Al- Kateab. They don't want to end up in a refugee camp.
With limited resources, Waad uses her camera to document life during a civil war and also doubles up as security for her family and community.
Why should you watch this docu?
For Sama made history when it was nominated in four categories in the BAFTA awards, making it the most nominated documentary ever. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 92nd Academy Awards.
Proceeds from this documentary go towards Action for Sama to advocate for the civilians of Syria.
