Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter.
She’s a musical goddess, a game changer, a musical source of life and a music legend. With 6 studio albums garnering over 36 million world-wide sales, Beyoncé still manages to stay on top of the game.
I guess that’s what she meant by the phrase, “I came to slay.”
This is only but a tip of the iceberg when it comes to Beyoncé and her musical journey. She’s been able to record 6 studio albums, 4 live albums, 3 compilation albums, 5 EPs, 65 singles, 1 soundtrack album and finally, 2 karaoke albums.
Her 6 studio albums include:
Dangerously in love
I Am… Sasha Fierce
Starting out in the all-girl group ‘Destiny’s Child’, Beyoncé decided to pursue a solo career amidst criticism that she would fail. But they must have been wrong because with every single she's released, Beyoncé has been able to receive numerous awards.
Under her number-of-awards belt include: 20 Grammys, 6 AMAs, 36 ASCAP Awards, 21 BET Awards, 6 Billboard Awards, 6 MOBO Awards and 24 MTV Awards, to mention but a few. In total, Beyoncé has managed to garner 193 awards with 386 nominations in her career as a solo artist.
Her personal life has been tough, as with every successful musician’s. Beyoncé was diagnosed with depression while she was a member of Destiny’s Child and also suffered a miscarriage prior to the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy.
She also has quirky stories unique to her, such as she’s allergic to some perfumes (even when she has 13 brands of her own designer perfume) and says that her bodyguard once broke her toe! She’s a fan of rock and African music and was once teased as a kid cos of her ears!
So whether she’s releasing an album with no promotional tactic at all, or breaking Guinness World Book Records with husband Jay Z for ‘Highest Earning Power Couple’ at $120M annually, Beyoncé will forever remain in our hearts.
Because she slays, hunty.
