Barely 24 hours after making headlines over parking drama, Willy Paul releases a controversial new song dubbed “Lamba Nyonyo”, which has drawn mixed reactions online. With 41,000 views on YouTube, fans have noticed striking similarities of Paul’s style to that of boybands Ethic, Ochungulo family and Sailors 254.

Kenyans Bid Farewell to Larry Madowo; Takes a Break from BBC

Larry Madowo will be taking a break from BBC Africa, to study in the US. The 32-year-old got a scholarship to further his studies, at Columbia University in New York. Madowo confirmed the news on Twitter, “Friday was my last day at the BBC before taking a break to go to Columbia University in the City of New York.” Kenyans took to the microblogging platform, congratulating the journalist on the new move.

Fans Slam Cassper Nyovest Over ‘Non-Supportive’ Tweet

Cassper Nyovest is facing backlash for expressing his wish to be Nigerian. The South African rapper caused a stir on social media when he quoted a fan, “Won’t even lie. I wish i was from Nigeria too. The love they have for their (sic) own artists…”, in light of a discussion regarding the state of the South African music industry. Fans did not take his sentiments lightly, claiming to have supported the rapper since the beginning of his musical career.

The world marked International Friendship Day on Tuesday, July 30th, commemorated across the globe since 1958. In 2011, the UN proclaimed the day with the ideology that friendship between people, countries, and cultures can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

‘The Hunt’ Trailer Released

Universal Pictures premiered the first trailer for Blumhouse’s new thriller, “The Hunt”. The horror film follows twelve strangers waking up in a clearing. They do not know where they are, or how they got there. They soon learn that they are now part of a bloodthirsty game, where humans are hunted for sport. “The Hunt” swoops into theatres on September 27.
