The world commemorated the late Nelson Mandela’s would be 101st birthday on Thursday. “International Nelson Mandela Day” was endorsed by the United Nations in 2009, to celebrate the global icon’s birthday for his service to humanity. The UN encouraged people across the world to do an act of kindness. Nelson Mandela passed on December 2013, following a respiratory tract infection.

The first footage for Universal’s “Cats” movie has been released. The upcoming musical adaptation stars Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Idris Elba, with a little touch of “digital fur technology”. “Cats” peeps into a tribe of cats called “the Jellicles”, who must decide yearly which one will ascend to the Heaviside layer and come back to a new Jellicle life. The movie premieres in theatres December 20.
