Rugby Players Frank Wanyama and Alex Olaba Found Guilty of Rape

Frank Wanyama and Alex Olaba were found guilty of rape by a Nairobi court yesterday. The rugby 7s players had been accused of gang raping a female artist in February at her apartment in Nairobi's Highrise estate. Wanyama and Olaba will be sentenced today and could be face up to 15 years in prison.

LSK Claims Lawyer Cliff Ombeta Is Unlicensed

The Law Society of Kenya claims that Cliff Ombeta isn't licensed to practice law because he hasn't earned enough Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points, to renew his permit. These claims have since been disputed by Ombeta's lawyer, Doreen Kali, who argues that his status is still active on the LSK website. LSK president Allen Gichuhi has also dismissed the report this morning, insisting that Ombeta still has a valid practicing license.

The World Marks #InternationalCatDay

The annual International Cat Day was celebrated on Thursday. Pet lovers pampered their animals; tweeting photos of them. Others celebrated the special day by volunteering at cat rescue centers, adopting cats and making donations.

Jimmy Gait Travelling Abroad for Surgery

Jimmy Gait will be travelling to India for throat surgery. In a recent interview, the "Huratiti" crooner confirmed that he has been unwell for some time, keeping off the music scene to avoid straining his voice. Gait also said that he will be there for at least three weeks, adding, "Pray for me as I go through treatment. Thanks for all your support…much love!"
