Amapiano Debate Stirs Twitter Storm
The never-ending debate on Amapiano’s entry into the Kenyan music scene is once again causing a storm online. On Monday, a section of netizens took jabs at the genre terming it as “the same song with different whistles”. “Amapiano ni 99% beats na 1% people doing absolutely nothing but kupuliza firimbi in the name of dance,” another tweep wrote.
Amapiano, a style of house music that emerged from South Africa, has gained popularity with the Kenyan audience in the past year edging out Gengetone, thanks to the influence of social media. Check out some more reactions below.

KTN’s Akisa Wandera Tests Positive for COVID-19
Media personality Akisa Wandera confirmed to have tested positive for coronavirus about a fortnight ago. “That virus [COVID-19] has shown me terrible things these past two weeks,” tweeted the 28-year-old on Monday, as she updated fans to have “almost fully recovered.”
Akisa also reminded Kenyans to “wear your mask and take all necessary precautions. Take care of yourselves”. Following the news, netizens flooded the anchor’s timeline with wishes of quick recovery.

Shadow and Bone Trailer Released
Netflix has released the official trailer for their upcoming fantasy flick, Shadow and Bone.
