IMAX 20th Century Shuts Over Kshs. 8M in Rent Arrears
Assets of the Mama Ngina Street-located theatre were taken over by auctioneers who cited reason being "accrued arrears over a period amounting to more than KShs. 8 million". Movie equipment including speakers, retractable seats, projectors, TV sets and other items are to be auctioned, according to an ad in the dailies by the building's landlord on Tuesday.Interested parties were required to pay a refundable deposit of KShs. 100,000 to get a bidding number. IMAX 20th Century, which has been operating in Kenya since 2012, has been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic which has seen among others; theatre shut down and movie production halt globally.IMAX's assets along Mama Ngina Street set for auctionhttps://t.co/oqURLZgRjg pic.twitter.com/dO9AJZKLiu

Javicia Leslie is the New 'Batwoman'
Javicia Leslie will be cast as the new lead in "Batwoman", replacing Ruby Rose who exited the role in May. Following the announcement on Wednesday, Leslie had this to say, "I am extremely proud to be the first Black actress to play the iconic role of Batwoman on television, and as a bisexual woman, I am honored to join this groundbreaking show which has been such a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community". The African-American actress is renowned for her role in hit series "God Friended Me".Producer Caroline Dries confirmed that Leslie will be recast as a different character from Rose's Kate Kane, "I'm inventing a whole new character who in her past was inspired by Batwoman, so she will take on the mantle and is completely maybe not the right person at the time to be doing it, so that's what makes it fun". Safe to say, Dries and the 'Batwoman' show runners remained true to their word in maintaining the lead role within the LGBTQ community. The CW has found its new #Batwoman: #JaviciaLeslie will take over the title role in #TheCW series' second season, following the departure of star #RubyRose at the end of season one https://t.co/qgcaED5BnQ
