Apple Launches Black Unity Collection

Apple has unveiled a Black Unity Collection, designed to celebrate and acknowledge Black history and Black culture. The collection includes a limited-edition Apple Watch Series 6, the Black Unity Sport Band, and a Unity watch face.
The collection pays homage to the rich tradition and craft of quilting in the Black community and celebrates the colors of the Pan-African flag: red for the blood that unites people of the African Diaspora and was shed for their liberation, black for the people whose existence is affirmed by the flag, and green for the vibrant natural wealth of Africa, the Motherland.
Other curated features will include a Black History Month Hub on the App Store, a month long experience highlighting some of the most remarkable musicians on Apple Music, curated Apple Maps Guides created in collaboration a Black-owned business, and a broad new collection on Apple Books highlighting great books and audiobooks by Black authors across a variety of genres.

Hollywood Icon Cicely Tyson Passes On

Cicely Tyson has passed on at age 96, her manager and family rep Larry Thompson confirmed. "With heavy heart, the family of Miss Cicely Tyson announces her peaceful transition this afternoon. At this time, please allow the family their privacy," read the statement.
"I have managed Miss Tyson's career for over 40 years, and each year was a privilege and blessing," said Mr. Thompson. "Cicely thought of her new memoir as a Christmas tree decorated with all the ornaments of her personal and professional life. Today she placed the last ornament, a Star, on top of the tree." - Her memoir, Just As I Am, was published on Tuesday.
Tyson was a two-time Emmy winner for her role in The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman film, and a Tony for The Trip to Bountiful. She has been nominated 16 times in her career spanning across her catalogue of films, movies and series including Twelve Angry Men, Odds Against Tomorrow, A Man Called Adam and most recently, How to Get Away With Murder.
Tributes from fans and celebrities globally have been shared via social media. "I'm devastated," tweeted fellow HTGWM star, Viola Davis. "My heart is just broken. I loved you so much!! You were everything to me! You made me feel loved and seen and valued in a world where there is still a cloak of invisibility for us dark chocolate girls. You gave me permission to dream..."
Gabrielle Union wrote, "We have lost a visionary, a leader, a lover an author, an icon and one of the most talented actresses the world has ever seen."

'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Trailer Released

Disney has revealed the official trailer for Marvel's "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" upcoming series. According to reports, the six-episode action flick will introduce some new adventures from the "Captain America" trilogy.
The series' official synopsis, according to Disney, reads: Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier."
Emily Van Camp will reprise her role as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, as Daniel Brühl makes his comeback as the evil Baron Zemo. "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" is slated for a March 19th,2021 debut on Disney+. Check out the trailer and poster below.
