Netflix’s rep said in a statement on Friday that prices were updated to “continue to offer a wide variety of quality entertainment options”.
According to CNN, “In the United States, the subscription price for the standard plan rose $1.50 to $15.49. The basic plan went up $1 to $9.99 and the premium plan increased $2 to $19.99”
At the moment, countries expected to be affected are the United States and Canada with the rest of the world still in limbo, including Kenya, which enjoys a free plan.
Netflix is raising their prices by 11%. Damn, that’s gonna suck for the person whose account I’m using.

Baby Shark Surpasses 10 Billion YouTube Views
The viral children’s song becomes the first video in history to surpass the 10 billion-view mark on Youtube.
In a statement to Billboard last weekend, the Pinkfong CEO Min-seok Kim said, “We are delighted to announce that our beloved Baby Shark has recorded another remarkable milestone. It has been a truly meaningful journey to witness how Baby Shark has connected people around the world, and we can’t wait to introduce Baby Shark’s further adventures that will bring unparalleled experiences to even more fans everywhere.”
Baby Shark is the first video to hit 10 billion YouTube views but if you take my family’s experience into account, that number seems a little low.
