Commemorating Late Lucky Dube’s Birthday

Today would have been Lucky Dube’s 56th birthday. The reggae legend’s stature and influence has continued to grow, being described as a cornerstone of 21st-century music, covered by countless singers, sampled and quoted by just as many acts whose artistic DNAs are shaped profoundly by the “Remember Me” crooner. Dube fell victim to a botched car-jacking when he was brutally murdered in October 2007.

His artistic fearlessness and social commitment remain an inspiration to people all over the world. Happy 56th Dube!
