Turning 13 is hard! Entering teen years and having to navigate all the life changes it comes with is a rollercoaster of emotions for parents and kids and Pixar's latest film Turning Red explains this phenomenon in a child-friendly way.
The coming-of-age story focuses on 13-year-old A-student and all around achiever Mei Lee (voiced by Rosalie Chiang), whose friendships and relationships are constantly put to the test by her demanding yet well-meaning Mum (voiced by Sandra Oh).
As Mei struggles with school and puberty, she discovers that not controlling her emotions turns her into a red panda. Literally. As if being a teenager is not hard enough.
Watch as Mei figures out how to tame her inner panda and how she copes with life in this strange new age. It's a wholesome family film that every pre-teen and teen should watch. It's beautifully animated and will give you deja vu if you watched Pixar's 2015 film Inside Out.
