HustleSasa, in partnership with The Alchemist, is organizing a digital incubation program called "Turning Passions into Livelihood" for creative individuals. The 9-month program aims to equip participants with the necessary tools, resources, networks, and knowledge to monetize their crafts.
The program will provide an immersive learning experience, including masterclasses facilitated by industry experts on topics such as financial literacy, community building, marketing communications, and mental health.
Participants will then spend two weeks getting on-boarded onto the HustleSasa mobile app, which will provide them with features to manage their businesses online effectively. Additionally, they will receive graphic design and product photography support to create professional websites to sell their products or services seamlessly.
The program is inclusive and open to all creators, including musicians, dancers, writers, chefs, and photographers. It aims to upskill 1,000 creatives across Kenya by December 2023 and will have multiple cohorts throughout the year.
The Alchemist will serve as the community hub for the incubator, hosting all in-person activities, and culminating in a grand showcase in December 2023. The program has received a KES 12 million grant from the Ignite Culture: ACP-EU Culture Programme (Eastern Africa), which is implemented by the HEVA Fund with financial contributions from the European Union and further support from the Organization of ACP States.
The program will leverage the HustleSasa mobile app to provide ongoing support and access to community initiatives beyond its conclusion, ensuring the sustainability of the participants' creative endeavors.
Interested participants can apply here before the deadline - Tuesday, May 30th, 2023, at 11:59 PM EAT
