Kenyans Outraged Over Chemically-Induced Meat Products Exposé

A local media station has aired an exposé  showing that some retailers are using a chemical preservative, Sodium Metabisulfite in meat product preservation.  It was said that both meat and fruits are induced with the lethal chemical in a bid to make them last longer (than they should) and look fresh. If used in excessive amounts, it is bound to raise major health concerns, especially on people prone to allergic reactions. A further shocking revelation is that the Sodium Metabisulfite (also called dawa ya nyama) can also be used for deep frying fast foods such as potato chips.

Joyce Akinyi Arrested over Narcotics Trafficking Claims

Joyce Akinyi was arrested by DCI authorities over drug trafficking allegations in Lang'ata, alongside two other suspects. The businesswoman was arrested for being in possession of a "yet to be established drug", believed to be valued at Kshs. 3million. This is the second time Akinyi is facing drug charges, after a similar fate back in 2013 on the Nairobi-Namanga highway. The three suspects are expected to take plea in court today.

Confirmed reports indicate that members of R Kelly's entourage, have allegedly handed in more than 20 videos to the police, showing the RnB star having sexual relations with underage girls.
