Travelstart today announced the appointment of Oluwakemi Ojo as Head of Communications for the online booking company’s Kenyan operations. Ojo will commence her new role on 1 July 2015.
“Oluwakemi’s previous experience and track record at Travelstart Kenya made her an easy choice for this role as we strengthen our position as the leading travel website in Kenya, and on the continent,” Russell Jarvis, Head of Communications for Travelstart global said from Cape Town where the company’s headquarters is based. “She will be key in aligning strategy and achieving more for Travelstart’s profile on an international level.”
Ojo, who brings a wealth of digital experience to the position, was previously Content Manager at Travelstart Kenya since September 2013. In that role she spearheaded the popularity of the Travelstart Kenya Blog in the country; an undertaking the company was recently awarded for in the prestigious 2015 BAKE Awards.
"This is a great opportunity at a company which is at the forefront of online travel technology. Innovation is at the core of what we do and I look forward to letting the world know what we’re up to," says Ojo.
Ojo holds a BSc (hons) in Computing from the Open University, UK.
Travelstart was first established in 1999 and has offices in Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Nairobi, Lagos, Cairo, Dubai and Istanbul.
