Photo realism. Yup. That's the technique that was used to create the live-action remake of the classic Lion King movie. The new trailer feels so immersive, so realistic. What! I'm already in 2019. Find me there. Did you know The Lion King story is set in Kenya's Hell's Gate National Park?
Twitter users reacted to the new trailer highlighting the nostalgia they felt, to the realistic setting of the movie and the Kenyan connection. The first few minutes of the opening scene of the trailer match the opening scenes of the original animated version of 1994.

The Lion King remake comes out in June 2019 and will feature an ensemble cast of the likes of John Kani, the South African actor who played King T'Chaka in Black Panther as well as Beyonce who will play Nala in the film. What's your take on the new trailer? Do you think it's lacking in creativity? Are you excited? Side bar: The trailer is the highest viewed Disney trailer on YouTube having garnered 224 million views in 24 hours. Wow!
