The biopic musical film starring Hugh Jackman revolves around the leap of faith that Phineas Taylor Barnum, the founding father of the Barnum and Bailey circus (the very first of its kind at the time), took in making what many described as a 'ridiculous fantasy' to life.
It surprisingly took a tonne of convincing for this film to be green lit by 20th Century Fox, given director Michael Gracey's relatively modest $84 million budget and the enormous success of Hollywood's last big musical -
La La Land. Fortunately for all musical lovers, the studio agreed to bring this movie to life.
Photo Source: vogue.comThe dazzling trailer is bound to get any normal person uber-stoked for the film. Jackman who has tasted the musical waters with
Les Misérables (2012) will be joined by other Hollywood big names like the dreamy Zac Efron, former Disney child star Zendaya and Rebecca Ferguson who you recently saw in
The Snowman.
Photo Source: youtube.comThere seems to be a lot of neck-breaking dancing stunts, which by all means should be present seeing that the cast were required to do over 10 weeks of rehearsals before filming. And this is before the actual specific dancing stunts, an array of colours, superb vocals, love, light, and long story short, a fantastic performance that will leave your mouth agape and feeling euphoric.
Hugh Jackman, bids his famous role as Wolverine in the X-Men series goodbye and takes centre stage in the musical. This got me super excited seeing his expertise and personal preference for Broadway theatre - having earned his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his role in
Les Misérables.
Photo Source: aussiegossip.com.auIn an exclusive interview with Variety, he expressed how he had found it difficult to relate with his ferocious, cigarette-puffing
Wolverine role and was pleased when he heard the camera will be rolling for this musical.
