At an intimate gathering at Hemingways Hotel, King Kaka teased fans by sampling some of the songs off his upcoming album, Eastlando Royalty. The party was hosted by Rémy Martin, under the banner of their One Life, Live Them campaign, in which the hip hop maestro is the Kenyan brand ambassador.
Other artists graced the event, including dancehall star Timmy TDat, Arrow Bwoy and Steph Kapela, who performed along side King Kaka.
The highlight of the evening was an auctioning of a painting of his new album art, which went to the highest bid of Ksh 35,000. Proceeds from the art sale will go to the King Kaka Sanitary Bank Campaign, an initiative that is geared towards keeping girls in school through the provision of sanitary pads.
King Kaka also unveiled plans to give 15 fans an exclusive listening sessions before dropping the album on November 30th.
FAB:
* King Kaka's live performance left me pining for more of his new music. It made all of us in attendance even more excited for Eastlando Royalty than we were before.
* The steady flow of drinks courtesy of Rémy Martin kept the buzz consistent and ensured the fun times didn't relent.
* The evening company. The event was small and intimate so it was easy to mingle and make new friends.
DRAB:
* Aside from the party starting a little late, there was very little to not like about this party.
