Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game that takes place in an alien space-themed setting in which players each take on one of two roles; most being 'crewmates', and a predetermined number being 'impostors'.
The goal of the 'crewmates' is to identify the 'impostors', eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; the 'impostors' goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the 'crewmates' before they complete all their tasks.
Saboteurs live among us and this game will help you stay alert and not get caught slippin'.
Although the game was launched in 2018, it didn't really take off until September 2020 when it caught on fire around the world. Now you can find YouTube stars, TikTok influencers and streamers all playing it. Among Us, which is played with 4-10 players, is very social, so is especially appealing during pandemic times and is now wildly popular in Kenya's gaming circuit.
Though it attracts mainly teens, Among Us also has a loyal adult following and is easy enough for a five year old to learn and enjoy.
"I love it so much because it encourages social interaction amid a pandemic. I've been the Impostor and got away with it by being shrewd. I hope Kenyan politicians don't get acquainted with this game. They don't need more ammo against us". Declan- an avid gamer in Nairobi.
If you're looking for a mind-bending, social interactive game to enjoy your downtime with, Among us will keep you engaged for hours.
