Skateboarding for Kids in Kenya

In recent years, kids in Nairobi have picked up skateboarding as a pastime and are daring ramps and challenging themselves to attempt gravity-defying tricks.  It’s all the rage for teens and tweens on Instagram. Skateboarding offers great physical and social benefits for kids and is much better than spending hours on end on their devices.

Why should you encourage your kid to take up skateboarding?

Kids get to use a variety of muscles and movement skills to propel the board, and exercise their feet, legs, arms, and torso as they twist and steady themselves with each trick and turn.

Learning takes time, and falling over and over again is unavoidable. They’ll try a trick till they get it right. That builds perseverance.

Skateboarding is all around fun and your child will interact with other kids who have similar interests.
