If you are looking to purchase a phone with just about enough features, the new realme C21Y smartphone, retailing from Kshs. 12,400, might be what you are looking for.

Realme (stylized as гealme) is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer founded in 2018 by Sky Li, who was the former vice president of the Oppo smartphone brand. It is a spinoff of Oppo and is collectively owned by BBK Electronics.

The smartphone brand made its official entry into the Kenyan market late last year as part of their global growth and expansion strategy.

Today we are reviewing the realme C21Y phone which comes with a fast charger, USB Type-C cable, protective case, a SIM card tool and an information booklet with a warranty card.

The Pros

The C21Y series packs quite a few nifty tricks including delivery of outstanding performance and unique colour options, cross black and cross blue, making the device strikingly unmistakable even from afar.

Lover of big screens? The device boasts a 6.5-inch display that gives you a seamless and supreme visual experience with every swipe of the screen.

While a lot can be said about operating a single SIM device, flexibility is guaranteed with a dual SIM handset especially with the ease of using one SIM for voice calls and another for data. The realme C21Y smartphone is equipped with a three-card slot for two SIM cards and an SD card that supports up to 256GB storage.

For a phone that holds a massive 5000mAH battery averaging more than a day on a single charge, it is also much lighter in weight compared to its predecessors. Its super power-saving mode is quite impressive – the phone consumes only five percent of battery to last WhatsApp usage for nearly 1.1 hours. And if you want to find somewhere to charge the device, a 41h standby time is guaranteed for you to find the fast charger and plug it in.

One click is all it takes to switch to a high-resolution wide-angle camera mode, enabling one to capture more stunning images of landscapes, architecture, and large groups.

The Cons

A camera bump is nothing new but the realme C21Y’s bulging out camera makes the device wobble quite a bit on a flat surface, which becomes a problem without your protective case.

Another potential drawback is that the realme C21Y’s highest RAM boasts 4GB while its predecessor, the 6i, brags of a standard 6GB of RAM.

Final Verdict

The realme C21Y smartphone delivers where it counts, offering both value for money and comfortability. I would give it a 7.5/10 rating.
