From birth through early childhood, children use their senses to explore and try to make sense of the world around them. They do this by touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, moving and hearing. Children, and even adults, learn best and retain the most information when they engage multiple senses.
Providing opportunities for children to actively use their senses as they explore their world through 'sensory play' is crucial to brain development - it helps to build nerve connections in the brain's pathways and that's where sensory play class comes in.
Sensory play stimulates a child's senses - builds cognitive skills and influences how your child learns about their world.
Squishing, spinning objects, splashing around, squeezing, scooping, shaking, dropping stuff, smearing- toddlers absolutely delight in exploring their world through their senses. It sounds (and can be!) messy, so you may often be inclined to cut this type of play short. But in fact, sensory play has an important role in a child's health and development.
Every Saturday from 10am to Noon at the Artisanal Gallery, kids aged 6 months to 3 years old can indulge in sensory play under the guidance of child care experts.
Each session costs Ksh 1400. Pre-book via 0721838888.
