India is a country with a rich cultural heritage, and its diversity is reflected in its various forms of art, cuisine, and fashion. To celebrate and showcase this diversity, the Rangeela Bharat Welfare Society and the Indian High Commission in Kenya have come together to host an evening of cultural appreciate.
Dubbed Sanskruti Sangam (directly translated from Sanskrit as cultural meeting) the International Fashion showcase will be a celebration of Indian culture, including its diverse cuisines, dances, and fashion on the subcontinent and Indian Diaspora. This Saturday, 4th March at the Kantaria Auditorium is an opportunity for people to come together, experience and appreciate the cultural richness of India, and promote unity in diversity.
The fashion show will be the major attraction of the event, showcasing a range of traditional and contemporary Indian outfits. We hope to see sarees, lehengas, and kurta. Visitors can later purchase Indian handicrafts and jewelry from the designers at the event.
The event will also showcase a variety of traditional dances, including classical, folk, and Bollywood. The performances will be accompanied by vibrant music and colorful costumes that represent the different states of India. Dance lovers will be in for a treat as they may witness the grace and beauty of Indian classical dance forms like Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Odissi.
The event aims to promote cultural exchange and understanding between India and Kenya. It provides a platform for people of different backgrounds to come together, appreciate each other's cultures, and build a sense of community. It is an excellent opportunity for people to experience the beauty and richness of Indian culture and promote unity in diversity.
