After 2 years of delay caused by the pandemic, Morbius is finally out! It's not a drill, it's not an April fools joke. Morbius is dropping in cinemas on 1st April and If you're a fan of comic books and vampires then this is the movie you've been waiting for.
On the heels of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was a box office hit, the comic book and cinematic universe inhabited by Peter Parker and his adversaries continues to expand with Morbius. Morbius is a superhero who appears in the comic book series Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Hollywood icon Jared Leto is the Anti-Hero in Morbius. He plays Dr Michael Morbius, an award winning scientist suffering from a rare blood disease.  In an attempt to find a cure, he injects himself with vampire bat DNA  that transforms him  into a bloodthirsty vampire. The movie  revolves around how Leto's character deals with his superpowers while fighting his urge for human blood.
Why is there so much hype around this movie? Here are  reasons you should be excited to watch Morbius at the Cinema this weekend:
Spider-man Universe
Who doesn't like Spider-man right? References to the Spiderman universe are heavy in this movie.  From the trailer, we see  a shot of Spider-Man with the word "MURDERER" written across it. That could be a reference to the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home. There's also the appearance of Michael Keaton, who played the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. What is the connection? We can only find out by watching Morbius at the theater.
Morbius is not your ordinary Vampire
He's not the cookie-cutter on-screen vampire you're used to. There's more to him than having fangs and being pale. We've seen snippets of him teleporting, having super speed and strength and using echolocation to find his victims. Yikes! We're in for a ride. He seems unstoppable.
The CGI is Cool
Whew! The trailer is serving some really cool computer-generated imagery (CGI). The special effects are amazing and the cinematography looks dope. It's a feast for the eyes!
Jared Leto
No matter what he does, Leto lives to push his brain and body to the limit. Whether he's taking on a villain drawn from the pages of a graphic novel or playing the role of an AIDS patient in Dallas Buyers club, he gives it all. He really gets into character. He recently did an Interview with Vanity Fair and stated that fans should expect a "World class performance".
