The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition 2024 invites young writers in Kenya to explore how communities can foster resilience and hope amidst adversity and global challenges. Whether it's climate change, economic growth, or peace and security, your perspective matters.
Awards: The top two winners in each category will receive a week-long trip to London, featuring educational and cultural events, culminating in a prestigious Awards Ceremony at a royal palace. Additionally, all successful entries will be awarded a Certificate of Participation. Selected entrants will also be honored with Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards for their outstanding writing achievements.
How to Enter: 
Choose from the following categories:
Senior Category (Ages 14-18):
  1. Reflect on Queen Elizabeth II's words and propose small steps to tackle the climate crisis.
  2. Write a speech on the most challenging global issue and how Commonwealth values can address it.
  3. Explore your cultural values and how they can enhance cooperation in the Commonwealth.
  4. Draft a letter to your country's leader on achieving peace, liberty, and progress.
Junior Category (Under 14):
  1. Share a new habit to contribute to a greener Commonwealth.
  2. Create a dialogue with a grandparent about resilience and hope.
  3. Imagine speaking to sea creatures during a beach clean-up. What do they say, and how do you respond?
  4. Describe how you'd make friends during a school exchange in another Commonwealth country.
